So much goes into deciding THAT you're going to shoot, that maybe, it's time we also discuss WHAT you're going to shoot. ESPECIALLY with a photographer with as wide of a range as I shoot. It's for certain, can be overwhelming.

So lets see if what I go through with people is possible to put up here for a sort of "self help" sort of methodology. Even if you decide to go with a different photographer, though you shouldn't, I want you to feel confident that you KNOW what you want to shoot when you get there.

There's no one place to start. We can start with indoor or outdoor, we can start with what time of day. But I think I'm going to start here... with what are we trying to DO with your photos.

I've been typing this up for three days now, and I've probably typed a third of Lord of the Rings book, and I keep talking in circles, but keeps leading up to what YOU want, SO... we're going to put together a "look board. That's going to help us piece together what YOU want, and then we can talk about what ELSE

After we talk a bit, I'm going to ask a question that starts with "why not..." and typically ends with something simple. Why not take this outfit I know you have, and lets turn it into something. If there's nothing that jumps out at me, I'm going to start with (like I am here)

"Why not a standard boudoir shoot?"

ANYONE can do that. Yep! So... what's YOUR answer. Is it because it's overdone, and basic? Maybe. If so, lets change up the location. Is it better to find a secluded clearing in the woods, and throw down a blanket? Yes? Great. Yes, but not quite right still. OK. What if we add a fantasy element to it, and tell a story. "Here's a red hooded cape, now you're Little Red Riding hood." Do you want to be rescued, or be the badass that rescued herself?" Both are fantastic, the badass that rescued herself may come with an axe, or a sword. The lingerie I suggest may contain a bit more straps, and/or leather, and a darker color than someone that needs rescued. Don't like the Little Red Riding hood story, ok. How about the movie Damsel. Lets do a corset, skirt, singe the edges, and we can play with smoke bombs and flames. * (* - Safety first people, it's a phrase, I'm always over cautious with safety" Like the concept but don't like the lingerie element? Great. there's plenty of sexy options that aren't going to feel like that. Remember the corset? That'll do it. Rather than a tulle skirt, maybe it's a leather pencil sc
